About this event
"Babies Are Brought by the Stork" ("Τα Μωρά τα Φέρνει ο Πελαργός") is a Greek social comedy by Thanasis Papathanasiou and Michalis Reppas, presented by Anemona Theatre in Nicosia for the 2026–2027 season. Performances run from October 9 to November 4, 2026, at Anemona Theatre in Latsia, Nicosia, every Friday and Saturday at 20:30 and Sunday at 19:00, with additional performances in Paphos, Larnaca and Limassol.
What to expect Set in Thessaloniki in 1943, during the German Occupation, the story follows two childless couples — Vangelis & Victoria and Mimis & Lela — crowded together in an old requisitioned café turned makeshift home. Their desperate longing for a child unfolds against a backdrop of hunger and fear, until the arrival of a hunted Jewish man who has escaped from Auschwitz and seeks refuge upends everything. Drama and comedy intertwine in this deeply human story, celebrating solidarity, love, and the unbreakable power of hope.
