About this event
Two ensembles with an alternative take on the music of the Eastern Mediterranean meet for an evening of tradition and unexpected experimentation. Saturday 24 October 2026, 19:00 & 21:00, at the Studio of the Nicosia Municipal Theatre.
What to expect
Idaion Project presents its new pieces for the first time, in which the music of Crete and the wider Eastern Mediterranean breathes inside prog rock, stoner, metal, funk and improvisation. Through original compositions and musical narratives, the group continues to explore the boundaries between tradition and electricity, creating a soundscape that on stage combines ritual intensity, polyrhythm and explosive energy. With this project the group's musical world expands, as the new compositions keep the core of the traditional reference while opening new dynamic and experimental directions. The Cretan laouto, drums, bass, modal paths, heavy electric sounds and acoustic timbres coexist organically in compositions inspired by the history, literature and cultural routes of the Mediterranean.
