About this event
Theatro Dentro and Theatrical Stage of Cyprus present "The Father" by French playwright Florian Zeller, the Molière Award-winning play, at Theatro Dentro, 44B Enotitas, Pallouriotissa, Nicosia, from 12 to 27 October 2026, starting at 20:30. Stavros Louras stars, directed by Giannis Leontaris. Tickets from €18 (€18 reduced — only at the Theatro Dentro box office). Duration: 90 min. Language: Greek.
What to expect
The Father is not simply a story about dementia — it is a gripping voyage into a mind gradually losing its bearings. Faces blur, times and places overlap, certainty collapses. The audience does not merely observe; they experience the confusion, the absurdity, the doubt. Far from melodrama, the production uses humour as an unexpected breath of air in the darkness, creating a theatrical experience that leaves no one unaffected.
Originally titled Le Père, the play won the Molière Award for Best Play in 2014 and was later adapted into a film that earned six nominations at the 93rd Academy Awards (2021), winning Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actor for Anthony Hopkins' performance.
