Icon painters in Cyprus

Icon painters create religious images in traditional Byzantine or later styles, working on wood panels, canvas or walls and often using egg tempera, acrylics or gold leaf. If you are commissioning or restoring an icon, discuss size, subject, materials, finish and whether the work is hand-painted or reproduced. Ask to see examples of previous work, agree timescales and clarify how the finished piece should be cared for. Restoration enquiries should include the condition of the existing icon and any previous interventions.
