International price in euros
Gold and silver in euros per gram, for every carat, with platinum and palladium. The value of the metal, updated every few minutes.
Good to know
Gold and silver are priced in US dollars per troy ounce on the international market and change all day while the markets are open. This page turns the international spot price into euros per gram, for pure gold and for the carats used in jewellery in Cyprus, and shows silver, platinum and palladium beside it.
The spot price is the value of the metal itself. A shop that buys gold pays less than it, and a piece of jewellery costs more, because of the work, the design and the shop’s margin. Use it to know what the metal in a piece is worth before you buy or sell.

One troy ounce is 31.1035 grams. The price of an ounce in euros divided by 31.1035 is the price of a gram of pure gold; for a carat it is multiplied by the gold content: 22 carat is 91.6% gold, 18 carat 75%, 14 carat 58.5% and 9 carat 37.5%.
Buyers in Cyprus pay less than the spot price because they test, melt or resell the gold and keep a margin. Compare offers from more than one buyer, and ask whether they weigh and test in front of you.
A piece of jewellery includes the work of making it, the design, any stones and the shop’s costs. The value of the metal is only part of its price.
Gold trades almost around the clock on weekdays; the price here is updated every few minutes. At weekends the markets are closed and the price stays at Friday’s close.
Sterling silver: 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals for strength. It is the silver most jewellery in Cyprus is made of.
