Only in the fireplaces provided at the picnic site, and never on days of high fire danger. The fire danger for each district is shown on this page and on our fire danger page.

What do the picnic sites have?

It differs from site to site. Many forest picnic sites have tables and benches, fireplaces, water and toilets; this page shows a facility only where it is mapped, so check when you arrive.

Who do I call if I see smoke?

Call 1407 for a forest fire (24 hours, free) or 112 for any other emergency.

What should I take home?

All your rubbish. Leave the site as you found it and make sure any fire is completely out before you leave.
